Guest lecture 9 - Sept 18 (15-17) - Anna Troberg

.
Time and place: Tuesday September 18, 15-17 in lecture hall V2.

Title: "What is free?"
Guest: Anna Troberg, leader of the Swedish Pirate Party, author and former publisher manager.

Talk: What is free? Is it free as in free beer, or free as in freedom? What happens when the old media houses no longer are the only ones who can provide solid, high quality reporting? How does this change the media climate? How does it change the way we think about media? How does it change our own role and what are the new challenges?

About: Anna Troberg was the head of the Swedish branch of a Nordic Publishing House. She then started working as a publishing consultant and wrote a humorous novel that was published in 2007. In 2008, she ran into a weird bunch of people, the Swedish Pirate Party, who suggested that sharing is caring. After having thought long and hard about it, she realized that they were right and joined them. In 2009 she became their Deputy Party Leader and in 2011 she moved on up became Party Leader of the Swedish Pirate Party.

Preparations: No preparations are necessary beyond bringing and open mind, a willingness to let go of old truths and to think about all the new issues that we are now faced with.
